Meet Dr. Panday
Stone Oak Ophthalmology is absolutely thrilled to welcome Dr. Vasudha Panday to our team of doctors! Dr. Panday received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She completed her residency training in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital, the nation’s first ophthalmology training program. She then enhanced her training with a fellowship in the subspecialty of Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the renowned Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital.
The United States Air Force brought Dr. Panday from the Northeast to San Antonio. She served eight years of active duty at Wilford Hall Medical Center on Lackland Air Force Base. During that time, she held a myriad of leadership roles, including Chief of the Cornea/Refractive Surgery Service, Director of the Joint Warfighter Refractive Surgery Center, and Refractive Surgery Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General. She was also the Associate Program Director of the largest Ophthalmology residency program in the Department of Defense. She rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force prior to departing and joining private practice.
Throughout her career, Dr. Panday has taught numerous ophthalmology residents, published many journal articles, and spoken at national and international conferences. She serves on the American Board of Ophthalmology, the certifying body for new ophthalmologists. She also volunteers her time to train and certify ophthalmic technicians.
Dr. Panday has been married for over 20 years to her husband Manoj, who is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist. They have two sons, Ajay and Ashwin, who love to travel, read, and play with their guinea pig, Peanut.
Stone Oak Ophthalmology has never had a Cornea Specialist in our ranks and we are honored and thrilled that Dr. Panday will be joining us! She brings over two decades of experience and skill with her. We know you will love her as much as we do! We are scheduling new patients for her now!
